Book Recommendation for Bridgid C. - Cassandra French's Finishing School for Boys

Hi Bridgid! My book recommendation for you is "Cassandra French's Finishing School for Boys" by Eric Garcia. This is probably the most outlandish and funniest book I've ever read. It's chicklit with a major twist. And it's chicklit written by a guy...very different. So I picked this one for you because I thought you'd enjoy the humor in this book and because the main character doesn't put up with any BS from men! In fact she finds a very "creative" way to teach men good manners. :)

Erica B. book recommendation.

I am going to start writing recommendations specifically for my friends. You never know who is going to be spotlighted next! I'll state the book and why I think this particular friend will like it. If you, readers, are in any way like the friend I'm spotlighting, you might like the book too!

For Dec. 30th, I am recommending "Twenties Girl" by Sophie Kinsella to Erica B. It's a lighthearted book about a woman who sees her dead aunt from the twenties. This feisty aunt who's come back for one more jaunt, ends up changing the narrator's life in ways that are funny and heartwarming. If you like chicklit books with happy endings that involve the main character finding a man and somehow solving a mystery, I think you'll like this one!

Julie and Julia (and rice!)

Ok, I'm cheating! I'm watching the movie, not reading the book. But since Julie and Julia is about a woman who writes a blog, I got inspired to add a posting. I notice I haven't done so since November. Very bad!

And while I was watching this lovely movie about french cooking, I decided to...you guessed it...cook! I made perfectly fluffy, buttery, and tangy salted basmati rice. Delicious.

My chicklit book recommendation for today is the book, "Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen" by Julie Powell. (I'm sure the book is just as good as the movie!) :)
