Mike and Meredith, my book recommendation for both of you is the Food of Love by Anthony Capella. Since you're also going to participants in our Iron Chef cook-off in a few months, this is a food related book. It inspires some delicious Italian cooking. Or...at the very least, it makes you want to go out for a really great Italian meal!!! Enjoy!
